From indie-game award winning LaboGameStudio comes its first shareware Action Horror Adventure game!

Ever since the war ended, the island has been slowly re-consumed by nature.
Try as we might to keep our regrets in our memories, the choices and events of the past don't just disappear.

Having been sucked into an alternate world where the relics of war are now living, breathing creatures, our heroine must get around these monsters and, along with her companion, find a way back to their world...

Game Features

  • A fully panned out script with rich characters and multiple endings
  • Detailed Pixel art drawn from 3D rending that helps create a well made mix of immersion and presence.
  • Music composed using the next generation virtual sound instrument, Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, enhancing the atmosphere.

This was a game that truly surprised me, both in terms of story and gameplay experience. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but upon finishing I was left with a feeling of amazement. The developer has really worked some magic; weaving a deep, emotional story, utilizing simple mechanics in challenging ways, and creating a lush and vibrant environnment from simple means.

This is the most difficult game I've played this year. Death is around every corner, plenty of "bad ends" to encounter. Near the beginning, I wanted to give up in sheer frustration several times (so happy I didn't)--but I always found myself coming back and trying again. There are no healing items, and you have only a few hitpoints to last you throughout the game itself. Seems harsh, but it feels right. As I played on, I wouldn't have it any other way. This game encourages you to learn from your mistakes and put thought into every move you make. There are no unimportant decisions, everything has an impact. Sometimes...you choose wrong, and you are helpless (or dead). Lends a sense of weight and realism to the survival aspect of the game. Making it through to the end feels like a real accomplishment.

One of my absolute favorite things about the game is in its design. MEMENTO probably has some of the most original enemy designs I have ever seen. I love the juxtaposition of the organic and the military. The cutscenes, although brief, are breathtaking in their simplicity. With several endings and secrets to discover, there's replayability. MEMENTO has a style entirely its own. I am already looking for more from the developer, and I can't wait to see what comes next!. I think the creators had a great story in mind for this game, but they couldnt make that great story a great videogame. Memento is a mediocre rpg maker title with cheap deaths, its storyline is boring as hell trying to be edgy\/spooky, and its characters doesnt make any sense.

The saving system kinda sucks too because you cant replenish your lives with it and you're stuck having only 3 (being 5 the maximum lives you can get)

There are a lot of better rpg maker games than this one in my opinion, I really wanted to like Memento because I love rpg maker games in general, but this one is just boring.. Interesting doujin horror, but could use work.

+Denizens of ghost world are unusual; many are semi-cyborgs who have incorporated rusted war machinery into their ectoplasmic being. Neat!

+Difficulty is high enough. The threat is felt, but can be overcome. You will die a few times. If you don't, a horror game isn't doing its job.

+Interesting narrative, with a few classic ghost story touches.

-Not enough CG stills to emphasize important scenes. Considering how plain the gameplay animations are, and how basic the dialog is, the lack stands out.

-Main character doesn't have any personality -- or even a portrait! In a 2D horror game, or any narrative-driven horror game, it's important to know what the protagonist stands to lose by death\/dismemberment.

-Could use a more fleshed-out ending. A coda would have been nice, perhaps taking place a month after the main events of the game.

Bottom line: It's not bad. Buy it on a sale. It doesn't live up to Mad Father<\/i> standards, but I don't regret my time with it.. I did not like this game. Even in the first 10 minutes, it very clear that it's low quality.. This was a game that truly surprised me, both in terms of story and gameplay experience. Even in the first 10 minutes, it very clear that it's low quality.. At the first view, this game brings very non-traditional RPG Maker graphics but the game itself isn't that good. Poorly written story with not much amusing gameplay, where you have to keep running from the machines. I was really disapointed.

Second Coming: Last Stand, a little more info:

Upcoming mini campaign to be available sometime after full launch of the game will have a large focus on survival. Gather resources and fortify your last stand position and see if you survive.. Bug Fix update:
We have released a bug fix update for the game, there will probably be another bugfix-update. But after that, Episode 3 with 10 new stages are coming to move the story forward.. BETA 1.1 released:
Some bugfixes, more coming in next beta.. A little about the game:
THE GAME
The game Second Coming and the short story Second Coming: Serpent Zero will let you discover and explore our unique origins (of life) and a universe much larger, older and grander than ourselves. At the end of the road, there will be unexpected answers to age old questions. The story takes as its standpoint that consciousness precedes the universe that we see. It is a very Biocentric worldview as outlined by Robert Lanza. Biocentrism argues that the primacy of consciousness features in the work of Descartes, Kant, Leibniz, Berkeley, Schopenhauer, and Bergson. It sees this as supporting the central claim that what we call space and time are forms of animal sense perception, rather than external physical objects. The story will explore what this would really mean for life as we know it, and also introduce aliens of different factions as the Nephilim’s of ancient writings. The various Alien Factions all have their unique storyline, that is intertwined to the creation of men.

THE GAME MECHANICS
I have always loved XCOM: s style of strategic gameplay (both newer and older versions). The Game Second Coming will use a gameplay that will build on this great foundation, but focus also on story through cinematics, cartoons and even reading and intertwine this with the strategic gameplay. Using the elements, we all love too create a great gaming experience. The experience will intermix XCOM with rpg-, adventure and gamebook games.

. BETA 1.2 released!:
We're trying to squash bugs as we go, so here's another beta. Fixed a few things, both graphical and other bugs and removed a nasty problem. We'll keep on it and are hoping we can leave early access before the end of the year.

Leaving early access won't be the end of it though, we have some interesting things going after that that we will share with you next year. Should increase replay value quite a lot.. ANNOUNCEMENT: Mini Campaign: The Last Stand:

ANNOUNCEMENT. New level added, bug fixes:
New level has been added, and some bug fixes. We are getting closer to the end game.. Episode 2 is Live!:
Episode 2 has been live since a week ago. The Early Access now include 10 levels and several changes has been introduced. Movement steps in top-down has been increased.

There will be additional bug-fix release of what we got so far this or next week. We are also gearing up for Episode 3, which will be level 12-20.

Apart from that, we will also update the demo in the near future (which is old compared to the early access build) and we aim to release the Early Access version as well.
